What is revenge?

Look at the picture below. How does this picture illustrate revenge? Respond in at least three thoughtful sentences.

  1. It shows revenge because they took his fiance away from him and that was the love of his life. They were jealous of him and his wife, now their making him live a horrible life. Their taking everything that he had and wanted away from him and leaving him with nothing.

  3. The picture is dark and the focal point is the guy holding the rapier. If you follow the rapier down it runs through a man, who seems to be crying out in againy. There are three guys who seem to be trying to hurt someone.

  4. I see a man who looks really evil. He looks as if he wants revenge on someone. I also see a sword looking thing in the man's hand that is striking the man in the right bottom corner through the heart.

  5. I think this picture shows revenge, because the main man in this picture looks like he has done something and is satisfied with what he has done. Then you see another or the same guy with his hands up in the air like he is the king or he is saying "Finally I have conquered something!" The picture is also very dark and mysterious. It shows that not all people are nice, as some people will turn on you. Keep you friends close, but your enemies closer :)

  8. The man being stabbed has apparently done something unkind to the man with the sword. The revenge is his life being taken from him. Revenge means getting even with your enemy for something that they have done wrong, to you.

  9. The man that looks like he is being stabbed more than likely did something that displeased the man with the sword. There are many cases in the book that would realate to this revenge. Revenge means getting back at someone for a wrongdoing to the other person.

  10. It demostrates revenge because it is dark and gloomy and the man in the picture has a smirck on his face. That look makes him look like he has done something wrong that has satisfied him. They've taken everything away from him. There's happiness around him and him in the middle ruining all of it.

  12. You can see the guy taking the other guys soon to be wife and has a little evil smile on his face showing how he is getting revenge on him. To me revenge is getting even with someone else and you cant really do that because you can't "fight fire with fire" because you will just get a bigger fire.

  13. In the back there is a happy couple that looks like they're in love. The man in front looks like he is ready to get revenge. He is mad because he is in love with the woman the other man has.

  14. The man in the middleground holding the sword is striking a formidable pose. The color choice clearly represents different emotions in the story, from love to sadness and also anger. The shaded man in the foreground is on his knees with his hands over his head indicating remorse. He seems to be a victim of revenge.

  19. The man with the sword may have a plan to kill the an at the bottom. the man at the bottom may have done something to the man with the sword. the revenge is either taking the guy's life or ruining it.

  20. It illustrates revemge because guy steals monte cristo's wife and he seaks revenge. You can sell by the evil grin on his face. Also the guy on his knees lock like someone got revenge on him.

  24. Looks like someone getting pay back for something another has to that has harmed him physically and or emotional. It also looks like people are not liking the sight of someone dying.
